Your data.
Kept simple.
What we collect, why, who helps us run the site, and how to see, change or delete your data. No selling, no tracking.

01Who we are
PrecisionFX (precisionfx.io and app.precisionfx.io) is run by Dan Freeman, trading as PrecisionFX, based in the United Kingdom. For the personal data described here, that makes us the data controller under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Questions or requests about your data: hello@precisionfx.io.
02What we collect
Only what the site needs to work. We don't buy data, and we don't sell it.
- Your account: email address, name, and a profile photo if you choose to upload one.
- Your profile and settings: the details you fill in when you join, and your preferences (time zone, week start, alerts).
- Your trading journal: the trading accounts you add, trades and executions sent by the PFX Journal EA or imported from a file, and your notes, tags, playbooks, ratings, prop-firm rules and chart screenshots.
- Security records: sign-ins and account changes, with the IP address and browser they came from, so you (and we) can spot anything you didn't do. If you turn on two-factor sign-in, its secret is stored encrypted.
- Update emails: your email address, selected topics, signup source and date. We record campaign delivery status and bounce or complaint feedback to manage these optional emails — including "tell me when it opens" sign-ups on pages like PFX VPS.
- Copy Trading preparation: your platform, broker or firm name, hosting choices and readiness checklist. If you choose to include your plan in launch planning, admins can view those choices with your account email. You can withdraw that choice by saving the form with it unchecked. Saving a plan does not connect a broker account, activate copying or subscribe you to emails.
- Support tickets: what you write in a ticket and our replies, so we can help and keep the history of the conversation.
- Feature requests: your suggestions, votes and request-specific release email choices. Approved suggestions are visible to signed-in members without your name or email. Suggestions may be merged. Account deletion removes your suggestion text, votes and email choices; staff progress and merge links can remain.
- Orders: if you buy a service (for example a VPS or a website), your name, email address, what you ordered, the price and its payment status.
- Enquiries: if you send an enquiry about a service (for example website design), your name, email address, what you need, an optional budget range and your message.
- Server logs: like every website, our server briefly records requests (IP address, page, time) to keep the site running and secure.
We don't ask for your broker password, and the journal never places trades. Your trade data is your own trading record — please don't put other people's personal details in notes or screenshots.
03Why we use it, and on what basis
- To run your account and journal — because you asked us to (performing our agreement with you).
- To keep accounts secure and stop abuse — our legitimate interest in a safe service.
- To send emails you need (sign-in codes, security notices, alerts you switched on) — performing our agreement with you.
- To answer support tickets — performing our agreement with you.
- To manage feature suggestions and votes — performing our agreement with you; release emails require your request-specific choice and active tools-update consent.
- To deliver and record orders — performing our agreement with you, and keeping accounts as the law requires.
- To reply to an enquiry and send you a quote — taking steps you asked for before any agreement.
- To send update emails — your consent, which you can withdraw with one click in any email.
- To meet legal obligations — if the law requires it.
05Data outside the UK
Some providers, like Resend, process data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK's adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
06How long we keep it
- Your account and journal: for as long as you have an account.
- When you delete your account (Settings → Data & privacy), your account, journal, screenshots, profile photo and update-email subscription are deleted straight away.
- Update emails: your subscription stays active until you unsubscribe. We keep the opt-out record to honour your choice, and campaign delivery records for up to 12 months. Addresses that bounce or report spam are suppressed from optional updates; we keep the suppression while needed to prevent further unwanted emails.
- Support tickets: for as long as you have an account; deleted with it.
- Orders: six years after the end of the tax year they were paid in, because UK tax law requires business records to be kept. If you delete your account, the order record stays but is no longer linked to it.
- Enquiries: 12 months after our last reply if no work goes ahead. If it does, for as long as the work and the law (for example tax records) require.
- Sign-in sessions: until they expire or you sign out.
07Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data — you can also download it yourself from Settings → Data & privacy;
- correct anything that's wrong — most of it you can edit yourself;
- delete your data — or delete your account yourself, at any time;
- restrict or object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you gave.
Contact hello@precisionfx.io and we'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) — we'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
09Keeping it safe
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), sign-in uses one-time email codes rather than passwords, two-factor sign-in is available, and your screenshots and photos can only be opened by you. No system is perfectly secure; if something ever goes wrong that puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
10Children
PrecisionFX is for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
11Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For anything significant, we'll tell account holders by email first. See also our terms of use and risk disclosure.
