NinjaTrader 8 troubleshooting.Find the message, follow the fix.
When a PrecisionFX tool does something unexpected, it usually says why in the Output window. Find that line below and do the fix next to it. Most fixes are a spelling or a setting, and nothing here places a trade.

Read the message first.
The tools print plain text. Copy the line exactly, match it below, and follow the fix. If a message isn't listed, that's normal: the last step tells you what to send us.

Open the Output window
The tools print their messages here.
- In NinjaTrader 8, open the window called Output.
- Find the most recent line from the tool that misbehaved.
- Copy it exactly, then find it in the tables below.
Names can differ. Menu names change between NinjaTrader versions. Look for the window called Output.
Not seeing it?
I can't find the Output window. Check the NinjaTrader help for how to show it in your version.
There are no lines from the tool. The tool may not be running. Check it is on the chart or in the AddOns list.

Copier messages
From PFX Copier.
| It says | What it means | What to do |

| no … copier.txt yet | The copier is running, but no settings file was found. | Follow the settings step in the copier guide. |
| lead account 'X' not found in NinjaTrader | The name in the file isn't in your Accounts tab. | Copy the name from the Accounts tab. |
| follower 'X' not found | The same problem, for a follower. | The same fix. |
| X is not connected - paused until it is | That account's connection is down. | Reconnect it. The copier carries on by itself. |
| mode '…' is not Off / DryRun / On - staying Off | A typo in the mode word. | Fix the spelling and save. |
| entry is too old to join - waiting for the lead to be flat | You started it mid-trade. It never chases. | Nothing. It joins the next trade. |
| follower already holds … left alone | The follower has its own trade that the copier didn't open. | Nothing. It's never touched. |
| too small for this follower's size, skipped | A size of 1 contract scaled down rounds to 0. | Use fixed=1 or a bigger lead size. |

The line isn't here. Check the copier guide's own message table, then send us the line.

Journal messages
From PFX Journal.

| skipping a line without '=' | A line isn't in the form Name = link. | Fix the line and save. |
| skipping … - that isn't an NT8 private link | The link isn't from an NT8 account in your journal. | Copy it again from the Accounts page. |
| skipping … - couldn't read … (the only option is offset=50000) | Something after the link isn't understood. | Remove it, or write offset=50000 exactly. |
| watching Sim101 - N fill(s) from today queued | It found the account and is sending today's fills. | Nothing. This is good. |
| send failed - … | The journal couldn't be reached just now. | Nothing. It retries every few seconds. |
| queue full (5000) - is the journal reachable? | Fills piled up while offline. | Check your internet. They resend on the next start. |
Keep your private link secret. Never paste it into a message to us or a screenshot.

SLM messages
From PFX SLM.

| expected 8 data series, got … | SLM couldn't add all the data it reads. | Send us the line. |
| signal skipped - stop distance … under the … -tick minimum | The stop was smaller than your minimum. | Nothing, or lower the minimum in the settings guide's Risk group. |
| signal skipped - a level … sits before the … R target | A level stood in the way of the target. | Nothing. It's a safety filter you can switch off. |
| falls in a clock-change hour … skipped (no signal) | That bar's time couldn't be converted. | Set NinjaTrader to UTC to avoid it. |

Still stuck?
Send us the line, not your login.
- Copy the exact line from the Output window.
- Write what you did just before it appeared.
- Send both to us. Remove any account number, password or private link first.
Nothing urgent? A message here means something needs a look, not that anything is on fire. Take it one step at a time.
Your safety nets
Stop first, then look.Always available.
Each tool has its own off switch. Use them when you are unsure.

Copier: set mode Off
Change mode = Off and save. Open trades stay as they are.

Journal: disconnect the chart
Removing the add-on stops it sending new fills.

SLM: remove it from the chart
SLM only draws and alerts. Taking it off the chart stops it.
