Which copy-trading route is for me?Copy your own accounts, or send your own alerts.

Copying repeats a trade on another account, and losses are copied too. Today the tools copy between your own accounts, and send trades from your own TradingView alerts. Copying other traders through the website is not open yet. This guide helps you pick the route that matches what you actually do.

Picking a route changes nothing at your broker.

You only decide which tool to read about next. If a step doesn't look like the picture, that's normal: open the "Not seeing it?" box under it.

Before you start

Two checks. Tick them as you go.

Copying repeats losses too. A copier does not know a trade is a bad one. Test on a demo first.
1

Know what copying does

The same trade, on another account, at your size rule.

  1. A copier takes a trade from one account and places it on another.
  2. If the first trade loses, the copy loses too. A copier only stops losses through the limits it has, so check each copier's settings.
Not seeing it?

I thought a copier would avoid losses. It repeats trades. The limits you set, such as a daily loss stop, are the only protection it has.

Your own MetaTrader 5 accounts on one computer

PFX Trade Copier.

  1. Use PFX Trade Copier when your accounts are MetaTrader 5 terminals on the same computer.
  2. One terminal is the Sender, and the others are Receivers. They share one Channel ID.
It does not work across computers or a VPS. Both terminals must be on the same machine.
Not seeing it?

My accounts are on different computers. Trade Copier cannot reach them. Use the VPS guide to see what changes if you want a remote terminal.

Your own NinjaTrader 8 accounts

PFX Copier.

  1. Use PFX Copier when your accounts are on NinjaTrader 8.
  2. It starts in a watch-only mode, so you can see what it would do before anything trades.
Start on Sim accounts. The copier guide walks through DryRun, then On.
Not seeing it?

I'm not sure how to start. Follow the NinjaTrader 8 copier guide, step by step, on Sim accounts.

4

Your own TradingView alerts

The Executor sends alerts you wrote, from your own strategy.

  1. Use the PFX Executor when you want your own TradingView alerts to place orders on your MT5 account.
  2. This is not copying another trader. Each alert comes from a strategy you set up.
Start with the first Executor guide, and test on a demo.
Not seeing it?

I want to follow someone else's alerts. That is not what the Executor is for, and copying other traders is not open on the site.

5

Copying other traders through the website

Not open yet.

  1. The website's Copy Trades page says it is not open yet.
  2. There is nothing to sign up for or pay for here yet. Do not send money to anyone for copy access.
This can change. Check the site before you act on it, and read the risk notes on the page.
Not seeing it?

I was told to join a copy group. Check the sender before you do anything. Only the site's own pages describe what is open.

6

Check your firm's rules, then decide

Copying onto a funded or challenge account is different.

  1. Read the firm's current written rules on copying and automation before you copy onto any firm account.
  2. Many firms allow copying between your own accounts and ban copying anyone else's trades.
If the rules are unclear, ask the firm before you copy. Do not guess.
Not seeing it?

The firm's rules page is hard to find. Search the firm's help centre for copying, copier or automation.

Your safety nets

Three things to keep in mind.

1

Copies repeat losses

Set a loss limit, and test on a demo before any live account.

2

Your own accounts only

Copy onto accounts that are yours, and read the firm's rules first.

3

Nothing open for others yet

Copy Trades is not open. Do not pay anyone for copy access.

!

Prop-firm accounts

Read the firm's current written rules before you copy onto a funded or challenge account. The rules decide what is allowed.

All done

You're set up.Nicely done.

Risk warning: Copying repeats trades, including losing ones, on every account it reaches. Trading carries a high risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Nothing here predicts results.
